I consider myself as a big fan of MSNBC Talk Show shows Chris Hayes. Summer Sumbok – Sunday Morning News Analysis News analysis known as UP W/Chris Hayes is the best news comments program on American television. This is arguably the only TV show that can be played today for objective analysis of what actually happened in the world of politics, foreign affairs, economics, and finance, topics that have Hayes knowledge that has encyclopedical knowledge.

Although he is a liberal democrat who supports Barack Obama, a political ideologist who is not him. Unlike MSNBC’s colleagues, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Ed Schultz, Hayes is not Obama’s defender. He did not try sugar to coat him or blame all his failures in the Republican party. Therefore, with an excited anticipation I am waiting for the publication of the first book Hayes, Twilight of the Elite: America After Meritocracy, only to find myself very disappointed with the results.

Hayes believes that the new type of elite, “more vulnerable to failure and corruption” than its predecessor, led to a series of major failures during the first decade of 21st century including people from Wall Street, Corporate America, White House, Congress, Roman Catholic Church, Penn State University, and even Major League Baseball. He continued to connect this failure with a “meritocracy” system in the United States which he defined as “placing the most qualified people, the most complete into the position of responsibility and the biggest import.” But is he right? I do not think so.

The elites have played an important role, if not the dominant role, in the history of the United States since the first day is an undeniable fact. Morris explained this in his latest book why America failed, even though he touched his argument in terms of “rushing” rather than elitism. Berdan argues by ensuring that “crowds, materialism, and pursuing personal benefits without regard to their effects on others” has given the dominant theme of American culture since the sixteenth century. I believe there is a relatively thin line that separates rushing from elitism and meritocracy as practiced in the United States. As said, “Life that rushes is a type of cancer in the center of a country’s soul.”

Hayes is not too convincing when he argues that there is something new and unique about the elites who lead the collapse of Enron, Worldcom, Global Crossing, Bear Stearns, and Lehman Brothers or those who promote and regulate war in Afghanistan and Iraq, not yet the closing of the Sex Scandal Catholic church. Although it is true that MBA Bankster, which triggered the 2008 financial crisis, does have access to several new financial instruments that are very sophisticated and luxury mathematical models, really nothing new about the dirty tricks they use including creative accounting, internal trafficking, price manipulation Stocks, lies, cheat, bribery, and fraud only to mention a few. However, I have to admit, Bernie Madoff might be unique!

And what is the proposed Chris Hayes that we do about excessive elitism problems in America? Of course, “For America is more equal.” And how will that be achieved? “We need to imagine a different social order, to imagine what more egalitarian institutions are like. We need to build coalitions, institutions, and constituents that are not only contrary to the status quo but for equality. The most basic institutions – our education system, federal governments, national security countries, and wall street – must be faced and reformed directly. “

It seems that never thought of Mr. Hayes that both US government, wall street, American companies, Catholic Churches, and Penn State cannot be improved.

Chris Hayes is a very good writer when he focuses on certain topics such as Wall Street Fisa, U.S. fiscal disaster, Euro crisis, tension with Iran, or gay rights. Where he seems to have problems in connecting points.

Maybe he should devote most of his time for extraordinary television shows and less time to write books.
